Hi, I'm Jim.

With over 15 years of experience in software and big tech, I help businesses turn AI from a confusing pile of tools into working systems. I was the go-to AI person inside large engineering organizations: the person asked to teach teams, mentor engineers, run trainings, and help people use AI without getting lost in the hype.

For over a decade, I have led engineering efforts and shipped real work at larger tech companies including Amazon and Facebook / Meta. My work has included Alexa, Amazon delivery systems, augmented reality glasses including Meta Displays and Meta Ray-Bans, and multiple undisclosed prototypes.

I'm a Colorado native, born and raised, now running real companies using AI every day. I do not hand you a strategy deck and disappear. I show up, help solve your problems, and help you build a business that can actually use the tools.

Proof From the Work

The pattern is not just writing code. I get dropped into messy systems, find the real blocker, clarify the goal, and help the team move again. That big-picture instinct is uncommon for an engineer, and it is a major part of why this work transfers well to small businesses.

Facebook / Meta

Trusted by teams when the work needed to move

Recognized by a Facebook / Meta VP by winning the Better Engineering / AI Award three months in a row, also known as all the months I was aware it existed. I used AI to reduce a team backlog by 40%, remove over 120 engineering days of work through automation, and still deliver a full engineer's workload.

Platform ownership

Senior systems with real users

I worked directly with senior management as a messaging platform lead and owned products such as text messaging on Meta Displays. I have shipped new products, maintained old ones, and worked on projects where reliability mattered.

Amazon

Engineering tied to dollars and logistics

At Amazon, I helped unify disconnected GPS systems into a scalable platform with multi-million dollar quarterly impact, worked across Alexa and Last Mile systems, and helped teams turn complicated platform problems into shippable plans.

Health and research

Smaller work with serious impact

Some of the work I am proudest of came from smaller companies and research teams: helping MobileAssay with an application used by the CDC and universities, and helping the National Renewable Energy Laboratory test new ideas. The impact is often clearest when the team is smaller and the problem is real.

AI Adoption Is a Skill

I led weekly AI workshops at Facebook / Meta and ran multi-day trainings to help entire teams use AI effectively. I was the AI person at one of the most advanced AI companies in the world, and I am bringing that experience to companies that need practical help, not jargon.

Process and blockers

I often came into teams that were off track, found the actual process-level blocker, and helped reset the team around the true goal.

Real business use

I use AI to run multiple businesses daily, from websites and operations to customer work and software delivery.

High output

Across my own companies and products, I am building at a pace that would have required a much larger engineering team before modern AI tools.

Hard-to-access experience

This level of practical AI and engineering experience is hard to find outside Silicon Valley, and especially hard to find in normal consulting.

What I Believe

  • I believe in providing value first.
  • Humans are not replaced by AI, but the old way of doing work is gone.
  • AI should eliminate busywork, not create new busywork.
  • Honesty about what does not need AI is as valuable as knowing what does.

What I Do Not Do

  • Hand you the same template I hand everyone else.
  • Give you a slide deck and disappear.
  • Use jargon to make simple things sound complicated.
  • Build something your team cannot maintain.
